v1 Atlas/Reference
Product lines & versions
How Lapitap versions work and what "v1 Atlas" means.
Lapitap is sold as parallel product lines. Each line is a complete product with its own database.
| Line | Codename | Status |
|---|---|---|
| v1 | Atlas | Maintained — bug fixes and patches only |
| v2 | Boson | Active development — see the v2 guide |
Version numbers#
MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH
- MAJOR = the product line (v1 →
1.x.y). - MINOR = a new capability inside that line.
- PATCH = a fix.
Rules that matter to you#
- A line only ever updates to versions of its own major. A v1 shop is never moved to v2 automatically.
- There is no data migration between lines. A client who wants another line gets a fresh install with its own licence.
- One licence = one line.
- v1 receives fixes that are safe for live data and does not change its own data layout (
backups/beside the application). - Any change that needs a manual step — such as a new permission code — is stated in the release notes.
