Factory restore (Restore Data)
Reset a deployment to the default dataset. Destructive, super-admin only.
Permissions → Restore Data (super-admin, 999) is not the backup restore. It is a factory reset: it wipes every collection and re-imports the default dataset — the same as a fresh installation, but on a system that already has data.
CAUTION
Every record in the database is destroyed. Take a backup first and download it. Use this only when support instructs you to.
Two steps on one page#
- OTP Key → fetch a live 6-digit code (valid about 30 seconds).
- Restore Key + the OTP Code → run the restore.
The two keys come from Lapitap support, the same pair that protects installation. The endpoints disable themselves with Database restore endpoint is disabled if the server was not configured with the secrets, and refuse with Invalid key / Invalid or expired OTP. The restore also refuses to start if there is no default dataset to import, so it can never leave the system empty.
After it finishes, sign in with the default owner account and set the system up again from the first-run checklist.
