v1 Atlas/Inventory
Lifecycle & statuses
The 14 laptop statuses, who can set them, and how a laptop moves through the shop.
Status values#
| Status | Meaning | Set by |
|---|---|---|
| Pending QC | Received, awaiting inspection (Buy-Ins start here) | Intake |
| Testing | Being tested or repaired | Hand (210) |
| Ready | Passed QC, not yet on sale | Hand; Cancel of a move |
| Available | On the shelf and sellable | Hand; receiving a move; un-reserving; refund or credit-note return |
| Reserved | Held for a customer | Reserve action (needs a customer) |
| Sold | Invoiced | Sales invoice only |
| Moved | In transit to another outlet | Move Laptops |
| In Warranty / Out Warranty | Warranty tracking | Hand (210) |
| Returned | Came back from a customer | Return flows |
| Damaged / Defective / Scrap | Problem or written-off stock | Hand (210) |
| Out of Stock | Not on hand | Hand (210) |
Defective and Out of Stock have no dedicated list; find them with the Warehouse status filter or the Write-Offs report.
Typical journey#
Pending QC → Testing → Ready → Available → (Reserved) → Sold — then, if it comes back, Returned or, after a refund or credit-note return, back to Available.
Rules the system enforces#
- Only Available laptops can be sold. A race between two sellers is prevented: the second sale fails instead of double-selling.
- Reserved needs a customer; Moved needs an outlet.
- Leaving Reserved clears the reservation; entering it creates one.
- Editing a laptop is blocked while Reserved, Sold or Returned, or locked.
- Statuses can be changed by hand only with permission 210.
Reservations#
Reserve a laptop for a customer from the scanned products panel (Scanner, tray & labels). Reserved laptops appear under the folder-lock icon and in the Reserved Stock report, with the customer and date. They cannot be sold to someone else until released.
