Laptops
Laptop lists, adding laptops, prices, locks, moving and scanning stock.
Every laptop is one record with its own code, serial number, specs, prices and status.
Where laptops come from#
- A purchase (deal) — a vendor invoice says how many laptops the deal holds; you then Add laptop for each unit against that deal. The code is the deal code plus a number (
ST24-015). - A Buy-In — a laptop bought over the counter. See Buy-Ins.

Add laptop#
Add new opens the Add Laptop workshop. Choose the deal (only deals with units left are offered), then brand, series, model and the specs. The power adapter and cable types are set here; the fitted item itself is attached by the fit run (see Parts & accessories).
New laptops start as Pending QC; move them to Ready or Available when checked.
Prices#
| Price | Who sees / edits |
|---|---|
| Purchase price (cost) | products.price.purchase |
| Sale price and bargain price | products.price.sale |
Upgrades add to the cost and prices automatically.
Locks#
A locked laptop keeps its details frozen (prices stay editable) and cannot be deleted. Locking and unlocking needs products.lock.
Statuses#

Moving and reserving#
- Move Laptops sends selected laptops to another outlet; they show as Moved. Sold, reserved and returned units are skipped.
- Reserve (from the scan tray or a laptop's status panel) holds a laptop for a shop customer.
