Backups and restore
Scheduled and manual backups, download, restore and factory restore.
Backup (system.backup.view).
- Schedule and Time of day for automatic backups (daily by default), and Keep backups for (days).
- Backup now (
system.backup.create) takes one immediately. - Download (
system.backup.download) saves a copy off the server — keep copies somewhere else too. - Restore (
system.backup.restore) replaces the current data with a backup. Everything recorded after that backup is lost; a safety backup is taken first.
Backups live in the installation's data/backups folder. Every update also takes a backup before it starts.
Factory restore#
Restore (system.restore.run) wipes the database and loads demonstration data. It needs two support keys and a one-time code, so it cannot happen by accident. Use it only on a test installation.
