Updates and licence
How v2 receives updates, rollbacks, and the licence page.
Updates#
The version card at the bottom of the sidebar shows the installed version; Check asks the update server. Updates shows the release notes, history and progress.
- Every signed-in user can see the version and check. Install and Roll back need
system.updates.manage. - Each release is signed; an unsigned or tampered release is refused. The download is checked before anything is replaced.
- A backup is taken before every update. If the new version does not start, the previous one is put back automatically.
- Mandatory releases (security or data-safety fixes) install by themselves at the next scheduled check.
- v2 only ever receives
2.x.yreleases.
Licence#
License (system.license.manage) shows the licence status and lets you activate the key you received. A licence belongs to one product line: a v1 key does not activate v2. A new installation runs a 30-day trial. Without a valid licence after that, you can still sign in and view data, but changes (and exports, depending on the licence state) are blocked until a licence is activated.
